Last year, Roseville signed a new deal with the United States Bureau of Reclamation to obtain surface water from Folsom Lake in perpetuity. Roseville has also signed an agreement with the Placer County Water Agency for additional surface water sources. Sac State Placer Center Receives Land From Placer County

Placer Center is expected to be a major focal point for the south Placer region. The facility will offer public educational opportunities, career possibilities, housing and commercial property.

The Sunset Region, located between the Roseville, Rocklin and Lincoln communities in unincorporated Placer County, is an 8,490-acre area. Placer Ranch is a 2,210-acre development in the Sunset Area Plan that is centered on a new campus for Sierra College and Cal State Sacramento.

The Sunset Area Plan update aims to revitalize the Sunset Area in order to build a regionally beneficial employment, entertainment and education center that will generate high-wage opportunities for citizens of nearby cities and unincorporated areas.

Placer Ranch Specific Plan is a nonresidential development project that incorporates employment, commercial and university-related space. A campus park district with roughly 4.5 million square feet of office, research and development, light industrial and commercial applications are also available.

The school could hold roughly 25,000 university students at full capacity. In addition, Sierra College intends to build a transfer center on the property to accommodate an extra 5,000 students. Students will eventually be able to start their studies at Sierra College and finish their four-year degrees on the same Placer campus.
