Following a trend of health care companies moving into or growing in Roseville, an Alameda-based company is opening an office in Roseville.

Penumbra Inc., a global health care company focused on innovative therapies, signed a lease to occupy a 160,000 square-foot building at 630 Roseville Parkway, according to the Sacramento Business Journal.

Penumbra develops medical devices, which address challenging medical conditions and clinical needs, according to the company’s website.

The Roseville location will be the company’s fifth location and second in California. In addition to Alameda, the company has offices around the world – Germany, Australia and Brazil.

The news comes on the heels of CorVel Corporation, a nationwide provider of health care management products, announcing it is opening an office in Roseville.

Placer County, and Roseville in particular, is becoming quite the hot spot for health care companies and jobs. In July, it was reported that the city anticipates about 1,200 jobs will be coming to the area over the next five years thanks to the expansions of three major health care facilities (Adventist Health, Kaiser Permanente and Sutter Health).

With Penumbra and CorVel appearing to be on their way to the area, that number will likely increase, which is great for Placer County’s economy and employment rate, which is one of the highest in the state.

Placer County is a thriving area and a great place to live.
