Placer County continues to have some of the lowest levels of unemployment in the state of California.

As of May, the county’s unemployment rate was 2.7 percent, lower than El Dorado County, Sacramento County and Yolo County. It has even dropped since around this time last year when it sat at 2.8 percent, and has dropped significantly since 2017 when it was at 3.5 percent. According to Gold Country Media, Placer County is now ranked 11th within the state’s 58 counties when it comes to lowest unemployment rate.

If you drive around the county at all these days you will probably see the amount of construction taking place, and experts say that is a large reason for the good numbers.

A strong employment market, high ratings for quality of life, good schools, nice parks, places to eat and entertainment options make Placer County a wonderful place to live and work.
