History lovers will be glad to hear that Placer County’s Gold Rush Museum in Auburn will re-open on Aug. 17.<\/p>\n
The updated museum now features a ghost-town experience, photo exhibit that includes Gold-Rush era props, rare artifacts and more!<\/p>\n
Located at 601 Lincoln Way in downtown Auburn<\/a>, visitors will be taken back in time to when the discovery of gold in California resulted in a huge migration to the state, particularly Placer County where gold was plentiful. Visitors of the museum can also view an old mining tunnel, theater and gold panning stream.<\/p>\n The grand re-opening event on Aug. 17, will feature gold-panning demonstrations and refreshments. The regular hours for the Gold Rush Museum are Thursday through Friday, between 10:30 a.m. and 4 p.m.<\/p>\n
