Beer lovers will certainly appreciate a new restaurant that just opened in Rocklin.

University of Beer opened its fourth location in the Sacramento region recently at 6815 Lonetree Blvd., #101. University of Beer features around 60 beers on draft, ranging from ales brewed in Belgium, to Hefeweizen from Germany, to porters brewed in Auburn, and hard ciders brewed in Rocklin – they have it all.

The mix in variety of style, from worldwide to local is what University of Beer prides itself on. They have “Cicerone Certified Beertenders” on staff, which means that they are trained on what goes into the beers so they can speak fundamentals about the brewing process and specific tastes.

They aren’t only about beer, however. The food menu includes a wide range of options: beer-battered fish and chips, Cajun calamari, spinach pesto mac and cheese, buffalo blue burger, turkey burger, Cobb salad, Caesar salad and New York cheesecake for dessert. People often rave about their Drunken Pig Fries and the Hangover Cure Burger. There also is a kids’ menu and kids eat free every Tuesday.

In addition, there is a dog-friendly patio, and a complementary milk bone and water is served to four-legged friends.

The list of dining options just continues to expand in Rocklin and the surrounding areas in Placer County. It is yet another reason why we Heart Placer!
