Thunder Valley resort in Placer County recently held a groundbreaking ceremony to kick off the construction of a new 150,000 square-foot entertainment center, “The Venue.”

Thunder Valley hopes it establishes a new standard for regional entertainment. The large event center will seat up to 5,000 guests.

The Venue will join the casino’s lineup of entertainment facilities, including the 5,000-seat outdoor amphitheater and Pano Hall, which host singing artists, comedians, sporting events, and other attractions.

Thunder Valley will host its annual summer concert series, which has brought in artists such as Chicago, Sammy Hager, and many others, at the new entertainment center. The hope is that the annual lineup will grow and feature even higher-profile entertainers.

Thunder Valley is more than a casino. Over time, the destination has become a full-service resort experience, with a large hotel, unique spa service, fine-dining options such as High Stakes steakhouse, and unlimited entertainment.

During the groundbreaking event, civic and community leaders got a behind-the-scenes virtual look of the new venue, which is expected to open sometime late 2022.
